See-N-Read® (U.S. Patent No. 7,954,444) is a practical assistive reading technology

that is designed to help readers see, focus and remember what they read. These interventions for struggling readers reduce word- and line-skipping and pattern glare, enhancing reading fluency and improving reading comprehension.

See: Helps readers to concentrate on and track the text being read while smoothly transitioning between the words and lines that come before or after (sweeping), thus helping readers to increase their reading speed and comprehension.

Focus: Clear reading window (ReadBar) reduces word and line-skipping by helping readers control 'eye-jump' movements. The ReadBar is surrounded by a non-glare tinted transparent finish that allows their eyes to move easily to the next line. Readers can learn a 'chunking' reading strategy (reading groups instead of individual words/lines) while keeping their place. Research in ophthalmology shows that See-N-Read's custom blue-gray tint is the least distracting color for the most people. The tinted transparent area above the ReadBar controls upward eye jump and allows re-reading without moving the tool, helping readers to keep their place.

Remember: Since readers get a clear reference point that helps control eye movements and aids word-to-word and line-to-line eye tracking ("sweeping"), readers spend mental energy on content instead of on keeping their place on the page. Greater focus on meaning helps improve reading comprehension and enhances retention of information.

See-N-Read’s flexible material makes it easy for users, young and old, to hold and use as they read.

See-N-Read® has been tested in multiple educational settings in a variety of cities and states. It has been endorsed by educators, neurologists, vision therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists.
